Pet Tech and Transport Services LLC provides dog walking and pet sitting services for dogs, cats and small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds) in the Nashua, Hudson and Litchfield areas. We also offer overnight pet and house sitting in your home.

Most pet owners lead busy lives while attending to family, work, school, vacations and other activities. Personalized pet sitting services offer a way to assist families and their pets, by providing individual attention, companionship, exercise, meals and health care during these busy times. We can provide one or more visits per day depending on your schedule and will customize our services to suit your pet's needs.

An initial meeting is recommended before signing up with any pet sitting service, especially when pet sitting dogs. We offer this service free to new clients. When we visit you at your home, it gives us the opportunity to get to know you and your pet(s), answer any questions you may have about our services, and provide a copy of our contract for your review.

Once you have met your pet sitter and booked your reservation, you can rest assured the person you met will care for your pets. Unlike some services that send a different pet sitter at every visit, we provide consistency to families and their pets. Our sitters provide excellent service and if you would like to show appreciation for your pet sitter, all gratuities go directly to the person caring for your pets.

Consider the many advantages to daily dog walking, in-home pet sitting (daily or overnight) or personalized pet and house sitting in your home.

  • Pets are more comfortable in their own home.
Kennels or boarding facilities are noisy and stressful due to the large number of pets present. This situation exposes your pet to stressed animals or illnesses, making your pet more anxious and at risk for becoming ill. Experiences at these facilities may not be in the best interest of your pet, especially if your pet is shy, fearful, has health issues or is not comfortable in settings outside of his or her home.

  • Consistency.
By staying in their own home with daily visits from a pet sitter, or having a live-in pet/house sitter at your home, your pet's daily routine will be maintained. Meals, exercise, play time, naps and medications will be on time in familiar surroundings.

  • No stress for your pet(s).
Many pets, especially cats, small mammals and birds do not enjoy traveling in a car and become anxious and stressed when moved from their home. Stress can contribute to a decrease in appetite, well being and overall health. For these pets, remaining in their home, while being cared for by a pet sitter or overnight pet sitter, is the best choice.

  • Special needs pets.
Senior pets or pets with chronic illnesses are often not accepted at kennels, as their medical or health needs cannot be fulfilled. In addition, most kennels do not have overnight staff on the premises. Most veterinary clinics that accept pets for boarding, are not staffed overnight either. Should your pet require attention or have an emergency arise after hours, no one is there to assist him. Because many of these pets are fragile, the best option for their care is to remain at home with a pet sitter where they can be monitored carefully.

  • Accurate observation and monitoring of your pets.
Changes in health, mobility or personality can be noted quickly, as the pet is in a home setting with their normal routine. Pets in a kennel often behave differently from the stress of a new environment. Any real change in behavior or health status may be overlooked by staff and regarded as just 'stress'.

Adult dogs need to go outside every 4-5 hours during the day to relieve themselves. They also need to engage in daily mental and physical exercise (relieves stress and boredom), have play time, companionship and personal one-on-one attention.

Puppies require even more frequent potty breaks, in order to prevent house training accidents. They have the same needs as adult dogs, but due to their young age also need assistance with meals, socialization, play time and basic training.

Senior dogs and dogs with chronic health issues or special needs benefit from mid-day visits as well. They often require assistance with mobility (especially potty breaks), medication or special meals, when families are not at home during the day.

Daily Dog Visits Can Include:

  • Minimum of a 30 minute visit
  • Dog walking for outside exercise and elimination
  • Exercise/play time
  • Feeding meals, fresh water and/or treats
  • Giving medications
  • Brushing out fur/hair

Cats and kittens have needs that are different than our canine companions. Often more independent than dogs, cats are still very sociable animals and benefit from interactions with people and other animals on a daily basis.

One of the most common issues with felines, is inappropriate elimination outside of the litter box. Cats are extremely clean animals regarding their personal hygiene and grooming, as well as where they eliminate. Litter boxes should be cleaned once a day (twice a day is preferred) and there should be a litter box for every cat in the family, plus one extra. So, if you have 3 cats, you should have 4 litter boxes available.

Busy families often forget to clean kitty's litter box and it becomes very soiled. As a result, kitty may find a cleaner place to tend to her business and will begin to avoid a soiled litter box. By having a daily pet visit while you are away from home, these elimination problems may be resolved.

Daily Cat Visits Can Include:

  • Minimum of a 30 minute visit
  • Litter box cleaning
  • Exercise/play time
  • Feeding meals, fresh water and/or treats
  • Giving medications
  • Brushing out fur/hair
  • Clean up of any accidents.

Small Animals & Birds needs are often overlooked since many of them are housed in a cage. These animals are bright, curious and sociable and enjoy interacting with people. They all need daily exercise outside of their cage, in order to maintain their mental and physical health, mobility, and well-being.

A major concern with small pets is their cage hygiene is often overlooked. Small animals are often housed on shavings or hay bedding because it masks the odors from urine and stool. People may clean the cage once a week or a few times a month, because it does not 'smell' soiled. However, these small animals are now living and sitting in their own waste products every day.

Fumes from bedding (cedar and pine), along with dampness from urine and stool can cause eye or skin irritations, upper respiratory inflammation, matting of hair with waste (preventing the pet from grooming/cleaning itself properly), foot ulcers from chronic dampness and more health issues. If you love your small pet, but dislike cleaning its cage, we would be happy to take care of this for you.

Daily Small Pet Visits Can Include:

  • Minimum of a 30 minute visit
  • Cage or litter box cleaning
  • Exercise/play time
  • Feeding meals, fresh water and/or treats
  • Giving medications
  • Brushing out fur/hair
  • Clean up of any accidents.

Overnight Pet Sitting in Your Home is offered for clients who have multiple pets, have pets that must stay in their home or who are concerned about leaving their home unoccupied while they are away.

Your pet sitter will live in your home and maintain your pet's care and schedule in your absence. In the morning, after caring for your pet(s), your pet sitter will travel to their other daily assignments. At mid-day, your pet sitter will return to your home to attend to your pet(s) again. After completing afternoon assignments, your pet sitter will return to your home at the end of the business day (just as you do).

They will stay overnight, insuring the home is occupied and your pet(s) have a companion to take care of them and keep them company. Lighting and shades/blinds will be changed, mail will be picked up, trash will be emptied, plants will be watered and phone messages can be picked up if you wish.

Boarding for your pet is provided in our home on a limited basis. We specialize in care for senior pets and animals who have health issues and need medication or special care. Because your family pet will be living in our home with our family, they need to be dog and cat friendly as we have our own pets. Your pet also needs to be up-to-date on vaccinations and have a current health examination. This pre-requiste for in-home boarding is for everyone's well being.

Our home has two large, secured, fenced-in yards for the safety of your dog. All fencing abuts the house, so dogs can have access to the yards directly from the front or back doors. The two yards can be separated into individual areas by a solid wooden gate. Outside gates to all yards are secured with key operated locks. Each yard is dry (no standing water), which reduces exposure to mosquitoes and water-borne bacteria that can transmit diseases.

Both yards have plenty of space to run and play safely. Water bowls are provided on each of the two porches for refreshments. Toys, balls and frisbees are also available for the pooches to play with. In the summer, small wading pools are available as well.

The front yard is surrounded by a 6-foot wooden picket fence, has a farmer's porch and a ramp leading from the porch to the yard. The ramp is especially helpful for senior dogs or dogs with mobility issues, as they do not have to climb any stairs. The front yard is sunny with a grass lawn, several trees, and numerous lilac bushes along the perimeter of the fence.

The back yard is enclosed by a 6-foot chain link fence. It is highly shaded and has natural landscaping with grass, trees and shrubs.

Click on any of the smaller images to the right, for a larger view of both yards.
